A rose by any other name smells just as sweet.

+ It’s official. I’m retiring my grey pants. If you know me, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m a little sad…it’s been 9 years; I got them when I was 12. It’s not that I don’t have other PJ bottoms…in fact, I have tons…I just love those the most. No other pair comes close in softness or comfort. These epic grey pants are so loose and flowy you feel like you’re swimming when you walk. Yes, it is that great. ;P

+ I’m in my final stretch. I’m working toward my final draft of my personal statement and then I just submit it all, and I’m done! All the letters are in, all the tests are taken and passed, all the classes have been taken!!! Ahhhhh. I’m so exciting to be wrapping this up and getting this mountain off my plate. My head’s been hurting for days straight now and I wonder if maybe this is why…

+ I’ve learned how to make grilled cheese sandwiches! I was (actually, STILL AM!!) pretty excited about this, and announced it when I was at home today. Wayne totally shot me down and was like, “That’s not hard at all!” Hahaha. Oh well, a triviality to one person, an accomplishment to another.

+ Direct quotation from a student from one of my classes today: “I’m so hungry I could eat an elephant! I could eat a MOOSE! I’m so hungry I could eat…I could eat…an antelope! I’m so hungry I could eat a cantaloupe!” Hahahaha. I don’t know why, but that had my laughing so hard in my head I teared. Lol. We aren’t allowed to laugh at students, but yeah, I laugh inside. It was just so funny…he was naming all these animals, and then, a rhyme! Lol. I love it. ;P

+ My computer’s power chord is broken. It’s being held together right now with a binder clip. Pretty janky, but whatever, it works. I’m afraid I might burn my apartment down though. :| Lets hope not..

+ Wow. First month of 2009’s pretty much over…

This weekend has started off great. I went to my first ever Bear Garden on Friday. It was fun…free drinks, free food, and games! I got 10 tickets in the frisbee game which is pretty awesome. :)

Yesterday (Saturday) was the Rebelution concert and then early-bday partying for Guilder. Rebelution was siiick. They started with Attention Span and then played Running. The middle was a little dead, but we chilled in the lounge which was amazing cuz we could sit and have a table. Hahaha. They ended the night with Safe and Sound and Feeling Alright. Overall, a sweet show, and HOB is always nice to go to. Anyway, after partying at the house after the show, I learned a few things last night…

+ When the night’s done, everything’s lost with it. You can’t pick up a conversation where you left off hours ago. You can’t recreate the connection that was created from the night’s long conversation. Everything good and everything bad becomes the past once you fall asleep. So, yes, why not end each day on a good note and end each day happy and content with how it had gone.

+ It doesn’t matter how things (days, relationships, events, school quarters, etc) start out. What matter is how it ends. But that is only if there is an end. I think that’s the catch; there isn’t always an end. Some things last forever, going out into infinity. And, thanks to math, we know some things go out into negative infinity. Sometimes we just have to let go and be done with it. There’s a limit for everything and everyone. It’s defining the limit that’s the hard part.

+ Our lives and who we are are influenced by the people around us, the words we say, the actions we do, and the thoughts we keep hidden. Be with people who make you want to be a better person.

I’ve let 1/24 of the new year go by without making a post, so let’s see…what’s there to say.

+ Classes are lame. I’m aching to finish this year and next year off. Yes, it’ll probably suck more when I need to wake up at the crack of dawn every day to go teach, but I’m so done being on the students’ side of the classroom.

+ Apps are due in a couple of weeks. Gha. How stressful! Thank God there’s this long weekend where I plan to get everything done.

+ One of my students from CHS called me the other night. I had given her my number cuz she had said she needed a private tutor. I had told her not to give the number out and to not call me for no reason. Well, she called me that night cuz she found out her grandma has stage 4 lung cancer. Oh man. That poor girl. She was sobbing the entire time and I had no idea what to say. That was on Tuesday, so hopefully she’s been doing ok these couple of days. I see her tomorrow…

+ I hate when I can hear ppl in my apartment complex fighting. The baby has stopped crying, but now couples are fighting. It’s awful. But then, in my parking garage, someone else had left a sign over their bf or gf’s parking spot saying, “I love you.” That nice. Nicer than fighting.

+ These next few weeks are gonna be stressful and busy. Oy.
