Forever December 3, 2007
So Jon and I have been together for a year, 6 months, and 1 day. Over time, I keep realizing how lucky I am to have someone who truly cares for me and has my best interest at heart. I think it’s probably fairly common for ppl who’ve been together for a while to have someone who cares. But I think what’s really special is that Jon puts my needs before his own. And from personal experience and other ppl’s stories, I know that isn’t common. It sounds like it would be since it seems so basic to a relationship, but I think there’s very few people who actually put that in practice naturally. And at the end of the day that’s why I know I’m so lucky. We’ve had fights and we’ve had disagreements.We’ve both had our bad days (and heaven forbid they fall on the same day!), but Jon once said that our fights aren’t so much fights as they are us trying to find middle ground where we can both be happy with the agreement. I think that’s another reason we work. We’re not both so hard headed that we can’t give way to what the other person wants. Lol. Maybe it’s because neither of us are the oldest child in the family. You hear ppl say that girls will find boyfriends/husbands who are a lot like their dad and guys will find girlfriends/wives who are a lot like their mom. Lol. I agree. I don’t think Jon’s anything like my dad, but I think I’m very much like his mom. He hates the thought of that, but I definitely see it. Haha. Quite amusing for me. But yes, as much as I love and admire my dad, I couldn’t be with someone like him. I need…the opposite of my dad. My dad and I have very different personalities in certain aspects and…eh. yeah. I lost my train of thought cuz Irene and Wayne just got home and all I can hear is Wayne screeching Penny’s name. I’m sure you all got my point though. And lastly, HOLY CRAP IT’S WEEK 10?!?! Fall quarter went by so quickly. Perhaps due to the fire week. Finals next week and then 3 weeks of winter break nothingness. That’ll be so wonderful. I’m hoping winter quarter will go well. UD math is a nightmare and I don’t think I can do it. I guess I’ll just raise to the occasion…
